Summer 2016 Issue: Yadkin River

Davidson County sits cradled in the life-giving resource for the Yadkin River Basin. The Yadkin is not only the county's energy source and drinking water supply, but it is the second largest river basin in North Carolina that spans twenty-one counties from beginning to end.

Discover the Daniel Boone Heritage Canoe Trail that travels the length of the Yadkin River in Davidson County. This blue-way offers historic markers and sites along its course, ending near the Wil-Cox Bridge–the first North Carolina Highway bridge that connected Davidson and Rowan County.
